It is widely known that blogs generally decline in traffic in the North American Summer months, from the end of June until Mid-September.
I want to share more numbers with you from Statcounter for this blog, Eddi Haskell's Second Life. Statcounter is a free program that measures traffic on your blog and give you all these interesting statistic for free.
My blog reached a peak in week 29, in mid July. It had 1400 hits in that one week (note- only one page load is counted per viewer in a 30 minute period). It then rapidly fell to about 850 views per week in August, and is now starting to rise again. I had 1100 hits last week.
This does not apply with all blogs. The Zindra Times continues to grow, it now has twice as many hits as this blog and did not show any summer decline. But all in all, if you are counting your readership, get ready for seasonal doldrums and don't get discouraged!
